What to do in Las Tunas?


La Loma Fortress, Puerto Padre

The very old and preserved military building, built during the late nineteenth century, is located on the shore of the bay north of the city of Las Tunas, about 700 kilometers from Havana. The architectural complex was built with limestone, lime and clay which abounds in the region and specialists believe that more closely resembles constructions of the Sahara Desert in Africa than those conceived by the Spaniards in the time of the domination exercised in Island during the second half of that century.It is among the sites that have the status of a national monument and is part of other tourist attractions of the town of Puerto Padre.

City of Sculpture

This city offers visitors a well-preserved old town and today is known as the city of the sculptures, since in the neighborhood around 70 monumental works, especially Rita Longa is.

Puerto Padre

The town is also known as La Villa Blue Mill by the large number of those teams that existed and still preserved in the city. The territory also has among its highlights a beautiful sculpture of Don Quixote while being obliged to mention the beautiful boardwalk, about 600 meters long, along which, in the sea, catches the eye a spring astounding for the sweetness of its water.Its beaches and resorts excel Covarrubias, considered by many as the best resort on the Las Tunas province.
