Santiago de Cuba, considered the capital of the Caribbean, is one of the most important tourist centers in the country. It has a magnificent hotel infrastructure and a network of facilities for beach and mountains. Its international airport provides direct flights from Madrid with Cuban aviation.

It is the second largest city of the island. So much so, that there is celebrated annually EXPOCARIBE Fair and Business Encounter Men.

Outside the urban area is the sanctuary of the Virgin of Charity of Cobre, patroness of Cuba, erected in 1927, and annually receives thousands of visitors from all parts of the island. One of the most visited places in the province is La Gran Piedra, a place of unique beauty where there are wild orchids and ferns, thanks to a favorable climate and its natural viewpoint, consisting of a huge rock stands out more 1000 meters above sea level, offering from its summit a magnificent view. Santiago offers splendid traveler with its mix of ethnicities that incorporates physical and spiritual legacy of the Spanish and indigenous African component.

Another hallmark of this constant process of acculturation proceeds from the settlement of French colonists in this territory since the eighteenth century.

The parks of this city are real attractions for visitors: the Parque Cespedes, Santiago’s life center around which the story builds. There is the Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the oldest in Cuba.
